What began in 2012 as a college class project presented to regional corporate leaders quickly evolved into a grassroots civic mission. To get it off the ground, founder James Jenkins went door-to-door to local businesses pitching the proof of concept, teaming up with classmate Page Lansley (whose original design work is carried forward today by Old Soul Creatives).

Our earliest gatherings took place in an Over-the-Rhine parking lot on Vine Street with just eight artists, where a portion of vendor fees supported Over-the-Rhine Community Housing. Over the past 14 years, our journey has moved through Cincinnati’s most iconic civic spaces—including Fountain Square, Washington Park, and Court Street Plaza. Today, we have officially taken root at Elm Street Plaza as our permanent outdoor home, paired with our signature fall and winter indoor residencies at Rhinegeist Brewery.

Now hosting over 80 independent fine artists and makers each month from an applicant pool of more than 100 entries, Art On Vine provides an accessible, high-energy showcase that champions creative entrepreneurship and actively supports regional nonprofits.
